CORONAVIRUS MESSAGE – 15th APRIL 2020
First, and most importantly, we hope that all members and friends of SCYC are in good health and remain so throughout this crisis.
The SCYC clubhouse is closed, and all waterside and shoreside activities are suspended. They will remain so until Government restrictions are lifted.
If at all possible it remains our intention to operate our Club’s summer sailing calendar, and to host our traditional open events, Dinghy Week, Mirror Week and Keelboat Week, but whether or not we are able to will depend entirely upon the timing of the lifting of restrictions. For our part, we will ensure that we are ready to go as and when it is deemed safe by the authorities to do so.
The first open event, Dinghy Week, is scheduled to start on 25th July. We will make a decision on whether or not the full event will be held no later than 16th May, a date that takes into account the date on which many visiting entrants must settle the balance on rented holiday accommodation that has been booked.
We will keep the website updated as and when we have any further information.
In the meantime, stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you all back to the Club when it is safe to re-open.
